"GAUDÍ, BARCELONA 1900" : A MUST-SEE EXHIBITION IN SÃO PAULO

Instituto Tomie Ohtake just opened an exhibition honoring the 90th anniversary of Antonio Gaudí's death. The theme, of course, is Catalan modernist architecture, and it showcases mockups, objects and furniture designed by the famous architect, known by creations such as the unfinished Sagrada Família and the geometric shaped buildings in Barcelona. In fact, one cannot talk about Barcelona without talking about Gaudí, simply fantastic!
The invited curators Raimon Ramíes and Pepe Serra Villalba chose 46 models, four of them on monumental scale, 25 pieces of furniture and objects designed by Gaudí, from metal door knobs to wooden and ceramic pieces, as well as about 40 works from artisans and painters from the 1900, who develop their works inspired by the Catalan artistic principles of the period. The selected artworks come from collections of the National Museum of Art of Catalonia, the Museum of the Expiatory Temple of the Sacred Family and the Catalunya-La Pedrera, Gaudí Foundation. Either before or after your visit, enjoy lunch at Santinho, the buffet restaurant by chef Morena Leite that is inside the Institute and serves delicious Brazilian food. Sketchers Meeting The urban sketching activity will begin with a production of small handmade notebooks. Later, the group will leave the Institute to wonder around São Paulo, with the idea of drawing free style different places of the city. January 25th, 2017 – time to be determined
Architectural experiments for children In this workshop, children and young people can explore principles of architecture in collective construction, in a playful and participative way. February 4th, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Family visit A guided visit of the exhibition, followed by an activity at the atelier, which seeks an experience with materials, subjects and processes of contemporary art. February 4th, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
EXPOSIÇÃO “GAUDÍ,?BARCELONA 1900” É MUST SEE EM SÃO PAULO
O Instituto Tomie Ohtake abriu uma exposição em homenagem aos 90 anos da morte de?Antoni Gaudí. O tema, claro é a arquitetura modernista catalã, e traz maquetes, objetos e móveis desenhados pelo arquiteto famoso por criações como a inacabada Sagrada Família, além de casas com formas geométricas ousadas em Barcelona. Praticamente falar de Barcelona é falar de Gaudí, simplesmente fantástica!
Os curadores convidados Raimon Ramis e Pepe Serra Villalba trouxeram para a mostra 46 maquetes, sendo quatro em escalas monumentais, 25 peças de mobiliário e objetos concebidos por ele, de maçanetas de metal a peças em cerâmica e madeira, e também cerca de 40 trabalhos de artesãos e pintores dos anos 1900, que desenvolveram suas obras a partir do preceito catalão do período.
O acervo é do Museu Nacional de Arte da Catalunha, do Museu do Templo Expiatório da Sagrada Família e também da Fundação Catalunya-La Pedrera, Gaudí.
