TASTE OF SÃO PAULO: the world's greatest restaurant festival comes to Brazil!

If you enjoy good food and trying new things, we have good news for you! From September 8th through September 11th, the Clube Hípico de Santo Amaro, in São Paulo, will host the first Taste of São Paulo Festival, which is also the first Taste Festival in Latin America.

Inspired by the Taste Festivals in other cities such as London, Rome, Paris, Hong Kong and Dubai, the São Paulo edition brings together 16 restaurants and renowned bars of São Paulo: Fasano, an icon of Italian cuisine in Brazil; chef Rodrigo Oliveira’s Mocotó, featuring a taste of Northeastern cuisine; chef Jefferson Rueda’s A Casa do Porco; Tuju, a revelation in the paulista restaurant scene; internationally renowned chefs Daniel Redondo and Helena Rizzo’s Maní; Kinoshita, one of the most popular Japanese restaurants in the city; Astor, well-known for its drinks and cocktails; Adega Santiago, with its excellent Iberian dishes; Bar da Dona Onça, an icon of paulistano cuisine; Fechado para Jantar, famous for its gastronomical experiences; Manacá, a popular restaurant from the northern riviera of São Paulo state (Litoral Norte); ; Le Jazz, a popular bistro; Nb Steak, which has revolutionized steak offerings; Tian, a popular Asian restaurant; chef Bel Coelho’s Clandestino – Canto da Bel, offering haute cuisine; and the popular Bráz Trattoria of chefs Benny Novak and Marcelo Tanus.

Each restaurant will offer three signature dishes – or drinks in the case of Astor – from their regular menus, and a special dish or drink created for this event. The price of each dish will range from R$ 15 to R$ 30. Meals will be served in two sessions (lunch and dinner): from 12 pm to 4 pm or 6 pm to 10 pm.

In addition to the gastronomic attractions, there are other events that make visiting the festival a worthwhile experience. With more than 30 activities per day, including workshops with renowned chefs, tasting and shopping for quality products and a food and beverage market with artisanal and small producers, the festival promises to be very animated. Don’t miss the Ramen (Japanese noodles) class, taught by chef Tsuyoshi Murakami of Kinoshita! For children 4 to 10 years old, the festival offers workshops and activities such as cupcake and ice cream decorating.

Tickets for Taste of São Paulo are sold through the site www.tudus.com.br separately by date and session, and include access to workshops, tastings and presentations during your session.

If you need help, do not hesitate to talk to anyone from the festival’s staff. It is also possible to be assisted in English. You just need to look for one of the festival managers.

Tastes of São Paulo also offers menus in English.

Gastronomic Highlight:

During your visit to the Taste of São Paulo festival, try to order the “Porco de Sanzé”, a roasted pork dish done on a barbecue, accompanied by rice, cabbage and banana. The dish is a specialty of “Casa do Porco”.
