Known by its several international awards, such as the Condé Nast Traveler World Savers Award, and selected by National Geographic as one of the 25 best lodges in the world, this ecolodge is located in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest, near Pantanal. At Cristalino Lodge, guests have very personalized and exclusive experiences, like practicing outdoor activities in the middle of the forest with highly trained guides to discover the enchantments of the forest and its incredible biodiversity. The proximity to Pantanal and the Cerrado makes Cristalino lodge exceptionally rich in species, with tall and leafy trees typical of the Amazon Forest. But don’t go there thinking you'll see many wild animals up close. There are many birds to watch, for example, but it is difficult to come face to face with wild animals. The highlight there is really the flora!
The hotel is close to the city of Alta Floresta, north of the state of Mato Grosso, south region of the Amazon Forest. The best way to get there is by plane, flying to Alta Floresta (AFL) by Azul Airlines, with connection in Cuiabá (CGB). There are daily flights from the main capitals of Brazil. From Alta Floresta, there is still a transfer and a boat ride to get to the lodge. Roundtrip transfers are included in the hotel's rate, as well as travel insurance and ALL the activities and meals.
A Cristalino staff member will be waiting for you at the airport; the ride from the airport to the hotel is about an hour by van and about 30 minutes by boat through the Teles Pires and Cristalino rivers, getting you already in the mood: you really are in the middle of the forest! The region is known to be a bird sanctuary. The water of the Cristalino River is so dark that it gives you the impression of looking at a mirror reflecting the rich vegetation!
The lodge common areas are decorated in an "eco-chic" style: a contemporary design using lots of wood and glass, built in harmony with nature. The hotel offers one specialized and trained guide for a maximum of 8 guests, and everything is customized to the details, according to the profile, taste and preferences of everyone in the group, including the children. Cristalino provides an array of things to do, such as canoe and boat trips along the Cristalino River, trails to discover the tropical ecosystem, 45-meter high towers for bird watching and sunrise and evening walks amid local species of fauna and flora - including more than 580 types of birds, 1,500 of butterflies and several species of mammals, such as jaguars and monkeys. More than a luxury hotel, the Cristalino Lodge is a place concerned about nature's preservation.
Make sure you swim in the river at least once, listen to birds singing, try all that delicious Brazilian food, smell the plants and relax in a hammock. Other must do things are watching the sunrise and sunset or enjoying the most starry sky that you will probably see in your life! The Cristalino Lodge has two observation towers, both 50 meters high and built in steel, from where it is possible to observe all the nature's layers, from the ground up to the upturned canopy of the trees. At a leisurely 20 minutes walk from the lodge, you will find Chip Haven tower, which is the most amazing place to watch the sunrise! The other tower, Ted Parker, has two platform levels and there you can enjoy watching beautiful sunsets. Another option for late afternoon is a boat ride to the Teles and Cristalino rivers encounter.
Between walks in the middle of the forest, you can enjoy relaxing moments on the lodge's floating deck - at night there is even a fire pit -, or in the living room, which has a library where you can listen to interesting lectures that take place there. The Cristalino has also a bar for happy hour and a restaurant with great Brazilian cuisine, that uses organic vegetables and fresh fish from local rivers.
After all these activities, you are left to enjoy the bungalows in the middle of the forest, with special details such as solar water heating, biological waste treatment, natural ventilation and Granado and Trousseau products. If you want a complete and especial experience, reserve the special bungalow: it has a private outdoor bathtub. For ecological reasons, the lights are turned off at 10:00 pm. Weather and final tips
It is hot all year round, with maximum temperatures around 35ºC and minimum temperatures of 15ºC at night, but the climate there is divide into two seasons: "dry" (June to November), and "rainy" or "green" (December to May). In July, which is the high season, it is hot during the day and colder at night, and the forest tends to be drier and the river level lower since it rains less, which might be ideal for kids and the elderly.

O melhor jeito de chegar é de?avião, voando até Alta Floresta (AFL) de Azul, com conexão em Cuiabá?(CGB). De lá, ainda há um transfer de de carro e um passeio de barco até o lodge. Os transportes de ida e volta estão incluídos na diária do hotel, assim como o seguro viagem e TODAS as atividades e refeições. Funcionários do Cristalino aguardam os hóspedes já no aeroporto, e o caminho do aeroporto até o hotel é de 1 hora de van mais cerca de 30 minutos de barco pelos rio Teles Pires e Cristalino, onde já dá pra sentir o clima: você está no meio da Floresta! A região é conhecida por ser um santuário de aves. A água do Rio Cristalino, escura, parece até um espelho, que reflete a vegetação!

O Cristalino Lodge possui duas torres de observação, com 50 metros cada construídas em aço, de onde é possível observar não só a natureza do alto, mas como todas as camadas dela, do solo até acima da copa das árvores. Para a Chip Haven você pega uma trilha de cerca de 20 minutos do Lodge e oferece a vista mais incrível do nascer do sol! A Ted Parker tem dois níveis de plataforma, bem mais espaçosas, de onde é incrível ver o sol se pôr. Outra opção para o fim da tarde também é o passeio de barco ao encontro dos rios Teles e Cristalino.
Entre um passeio e outro em meio à floresta, vale aproveitar momentos de relax no deque flutuante do hotel – à noite tem até fogueira –, no living room que inclui biblioteca ou nas palestras que acontecem por lá. O Cristalino ainda tem um bar para happy hour e um restaurante que aposta na culinária brasileira e inclui legumes orgânicos e peixes de rio fresquinhos.
Depois de tudo isso, só resta aproveitar os bangalôs no meio da mata nativa que têm detalhes como aquecimento solar de água, tratamento de resíduos biológicos, ventilação natural e amenities Granado e Trousseau. Se quiser uma experiência completa, peça pelo bangalô especial: além de tudo, ainda tem uma banheira com jardim privativo ao ar livre. Por questões ecológicas, as luzes são apagadas às 22 horas.
Clima e dicas Por lá faz calor o ano todo, com temperaturas máximas em torno de 35ºC e mínimas de 15ºC durante a noite, mas as estações estão dividas entre “seca” (junho a novembro), e “chuvosa” ou “verde” (dezembro a maio). Em julho, alta temporada, faz calor durante o dia e friozinho à noite e a floresta costuma ficar mais seca e o nível do rio baixo, mas chove menos, e é ideal para crianças.
