CASA SANTA LUZIA: Satisfy your cravings

Located in the heart of Jardins neighborhood, Casa Santa Luzia is nothing less than one of the finest emporiums in São Paulo, offering more than 30,000 high quality products. With a wide variety of product options, clients can easily find organic, gluten free, lactose free and diet products (some of which are totally exclusive), and imported goods such as wine, spices, dried fruits and other items. For this reason, it is very popular with expats and it is common to hear different languages while walking around the store.

Located at the same address since 1981, although it was founded in 1926, Casa Santa Luzia is a luxury emporium that has been run by several generations of the Lopes family. Despite being a large complex with more than 500 employees and an average of 5,000 customers per day, the supermarket still creates a personal and personalized atmosphere, a clear reflection of the excellent management.

Due to the large selection of imported goods and the quality of products and services, prices are higher than other markets in general. However, Casa Santa Luzia has many options of products that you can only find there, for example, a large selection of imported teas and oils. The store also has a food counter that prepares fresh food on a daily basis, and is a good solution to prepare for last minute guests or events.

From appetizers to main courses (pastas, meats, fishes, etc) and desserts, you can quickly put together an entire meal – it is worth trying the fresh ricotta, the salmon wrapped in puff pastry and the steak tartar. You will be tempted by the irresistible smell that comes from their own bakery, where you can find croissants, baguettes, brioches and even bagels.

The emporium has become famous for its festive menus, especially during Christmas and New Year when you can also find baskets filled with jam, cheese, nuts, wine, fruits and dried fruits, among other goodies. In Brazil, at this time of the year, it is traditional to treat family members and friends with rich baskets of food.

If you need help, do not hesitate to talk to anyone from the emporium’s staff, a high point when it comes to friendliness and good service. It is also possible to be assisted in English. You just need to look for one of the store managers, who are dressed in black and stand by the cashiers. The market offers the possibility to shop online (although the catalogue is very limited), and if you live in Jardins (between Rua Melo Alves, Rua Estados Unidos, Alameda Itu and Alameda Casa Branca), you can also choose to have your groceries delivered – after you pay, ask the cashier for the delivery service.

In case you still do not know this market, there is one more detail that makes the visit worth it. After shopping, stop at their cafe in front of the glass windows designed by Gregório Gruber. These are a beautiful tribute to the city of São Paulo.

We are confident that you will leave satisfied and with a full grocery bag!
